Miami has an ancient site, who would have known. Apparently in 1998, a developer stumbled upon this circle on land he was planning to build on. The perfectly round circle had tools and teeth buried along with it. Some of these artifacts date to 1800-2000 years ago. The land was sold to the state of FL by the developer, and is currently leased to the Historical Museum of Southern Florida.

Property developer Michael Bauman was in for a real surprise when he purchased a plot of land in downtown Miami in 1998. Bauman’s plans for the land were seemingly simple: demolish a 1950-era apartment complex and build a luxury condominium in its place.

During a routine archaeological survey of the site, however, hundreds of mysterious holes were discovered in a layer of Oolitic limestone bedrock and Bauman’s development plans immediately came to a halt.Through further investigation, twenty-four of the largest holes comprised a perfect circle, 38 feet (12 m) in diameter, and excavation results found a variety of artifacts ranging from human teeth to ancient tools.

Some intrepid developers have started working on porting an open source navigation app onto the Palm Pre. That would be a great idea. I think WebOS is definitely the best smartphone OS out now. The hardware could use some improvement, and I hope HP fixes that problem. The problem with the Sprint Nav app is, it heats up the phone like crazy, especially if you have your Pre overclocked. We probably won’t see this app anytime soon but hopefully this starts more people working on different solutions.

A new debate has popped up by politicians on whether to mirandize the Times Square bombing suspect. You would think it would be business as normal. The left for Miranda rights and the Right against it, but not everyone is following those views. On the left we have Lieberman calling for the stripping of his Citizenship so we don’t have to try him as an American Citizen, and on the right we have Beck. Beck is arguing that as a US Citizen, we don’t get to rip the constitution apart for one man. As surprising as his view is I agree with Beck, and I haven’t done that in a long time. We don’t need to panic, and throw away what the constitution says. I totally support the punishing of this man, but we need to do it the right way. The world is going to be looking at how we handle this case. For those that argue that we don’t have any leverage to get him to talk, I think we have plenty. Pakistan has arrested people tied to him in Pakistan, now we might not be able to apply some of the harder interrogation methods on him, but that won’t hold Pakistan back from attaining information from those in Pakistan. The real story of this situation is the speed in which he was apprehended, now whether that was due to astute investigation, or because Faisal Shahzad was not very good, doesn’t matter, the point is that he was caught. For that I thank God that, the bomb did not go off, giving terrorists a chance to gloat and use this attack as a rallying cry.

Now I don’t know if it was proper for the police to taser the kid for running onto the field, but why run onto it in the first place. It’s a symptom of the age kids are growing up in. YouTube and social media, I think have led to an exceptional rise in kids desire to be noticed. To attract those 1 million views on YouTube. It’s like that desire pushes away any semblance of common sense. Did he not think he was gonna get into trouble by running onto the field, and if he did, did the attention outweigh the trouble he was gonna be in. One thing I’m pretty sure he wasn’t thinking about was getting hit by a taser in the back.

A police officer used a Taser gun to apprehend a fan who ran onto the field during a Phillies game Monday night, and the team and the police are investigating whether it was an appropriate use of force.

And now he has his wish, he’s all over YouTube…

They caught the car bomb suspect apparently trying to flee the US at JFK airport..

A U.S. citizen of Pakistani descent, Shahzad Faisal, was trying to leave the country Monday night at John F Kennedy International Airport when he was picked up by Customs and Border Protection agents, Williams reported.
